Pilates Spare Parts is an independent technical knowledge base for Pilates equipment, built to help studio owners, instructors, distributors, and technicians understand how the machines they use are made, how they wear, and how to keep them running well.
Our Mission
Our mission is to give people who own, teach on, or maintain Pilates equipment accurate, independent technical information about its components, materials, and upkeep, so they can make better decisions about the machines they’re responsible for.
Why Pilates Spare Parts Exists
Most information available about Pilates equipment is written to sell it. Manufacturer websites describe their own machines in favorable terms, and listings rarely explain how a component actually works or why it wears the way it does. Pilates Spare Parts was created to fill that gap: a resource focused on how the equipment functions, not on which brand to buy. Sitting outside the commercial relationship between manufacturers and buyers is what allows it to describe both strengths and limitations plainly.
Who Is Behind This Project
Pilates Spare Parts is directed by Iker Villanueva. His background combines several areas that don’t usually overlap: he owns and teaches at three Pilates studios, has technical training in mechanical engineering and industrial mechatronics, holds a master’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, and has sourced Pilates machinery from both European manufacturers and Asian suppliers. Working hands-on over the years with commercial machines from a range of manufacturers has meant looking at each one from two angles at once: how it performs for the person using it, and how it’s built, wears, and gets maintained. That dual perspective, instructor and maintenance-trained buyer, is what shapes how every article on this site is approached.
This background is the reason Pilates Spare Parts exists in its current form. It isn’t the subject of the site.
How We Develop Our Content
Articles are built from a combination of sources, drawn on wherever they’re relevant to a given topic: hands-on experience with the equipment in daily studio use, technical documentation from manufacturers and suppliers, direct observation of components removed from machines, comparison across different brands and models, engineering fundamentals relevant to materials and mechanical wear, preventive maintenance practice, and the practical realities of running a Pilates studio. Where information is uncertain, incomplete, or simply not published by a manufacturer, we say so rather than filling the gap with assumption.
Our Principles
- We prioritize technical accuracy over speed or volume.
- We distinguish clearly between verified facts, professional recommendations, and technical opinion.
- We update articles when new information or corrections become available.
- We aim to remain independent of manufacturers and avoid favoring a specific brand.
- We write for the reader’s practical usefulness, not for search visibility.
Our Commitment to Independence
Pilates Spare Parts is not owned or sponsored by any equipment manufacturer, and doesn’t accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage. Where the site sells or recommends specific parts, that is kept separate from the technical content itself and doesn’t change how a component’s advantages or limitations are described. The aim is for every article to stay useful and accurate whether or not it happens to align with what a manufacturer would prefer.
